You can't go wrong reading this sweet love story. I know that this place exists even if it is only in my heart. Nancy's touch makes you steal away into a corner and read until you can't hold your eyes open. I was captured by the story.

The characters are so believable and draw you into the story. It draws you into a place of peacefulness. It gives hope and love.

This book met and exceeded my expectations.

This book has a nice plot, but you can definitely tell that a new author wrote it. The story gets a little plodding in places, and there are some plot devices that are unnecessary and distract from the story.

The big problems are the grammar and editing. There are a lot of grammatical mistakes in the book, things I wouldn't expect a high school kid to write, let alone someone trying to become an author. At some point, the author must have done a "search and replace" to change every use of "miss" to "Ms.," because of a character named "Ms. Sadie." Unfortunately, that means that every time the word "miss" was used (a surprisingly high number of times, actually), it's actually written as "Ms."

This is a clean romance, and seems very basic. The only hint of a personality flaw is that the heroine smokes, which I didn't like. There was no reason for it, and I didn't like that she smoked around her pregnant sister. I also didn't like that she moved back to her small hometown in the summertime after 15 years away, and "didn't find the time" to visit her parents until they came to her place for a party Halloween night. There was no estrangement or anything, no real reason for the delay. It seemed weird, especially because the heroine only worked part-time. There was also another sister who was referred to but whom we never met. She added nothing to the story, so I didn't see the point of the character.

Anyway, the story is fine, if forgettable. It was free, which was good. I would not pay for this.
This book is like a classic that I read when young and loved a lot. It is a love story alright. But not just between hero and heroine. It does not describe hot love-making, gunshoot action, or brain twisting mystery. But it showed love between family and friend, that was so moving. I also liked the story about restoration of a beautiful house and acquiring new friends through it. There are a number of typos, but they did not bother me.
